Anth and Bron started talking about birds - and after initially bagging seagulls, decided that they were not that bad really - especially the Pacific seagull - which is really an all right bird as far as birds go.

Anth has a friend who needs a bit of help - after loosing an expensive video to a shark he got into the water to see if he could find it.

Anths Stat: There are three areas of Melbourne that are used for military exercises - some people look, some people touch and some just get into it with high explosives.

Surfing Victoria has threatened to boycott the Mornington Peninsula because of the Gunnamatta Outfall, as they can't guarantee the quality of the water.

EPA fined a ship owner for an oil spill into the Yarra - $25,000

A seal was rescued from the middle of a 6 lane highway in Perth. The young male had bitten an RACWA Officer who was quoted as saying it looked friendly enough before it bit him.

A Thai man had to have a live fish removed from his throat - apparently he put the fish in his mouth to hold it while re rebaited the line, and it wiggled down his throat - to be removed surgically.

The Global Ocean Exploration Conference was recently held in Paris - and Harry was there with his marine exploration heroes. The projects coming around the corner included autonomous robots to trail whales (presumably for scientific purposes), or the Japanese plan to drill into the core of the planet.

Harry found that the scientists were so deeply involved in their work that they didn't really think that anyone else would be interested. They were like big kids with their toys !!!
