Bron's much vaunted weather report stepped up to another level with a longer forecast, and detailed analysis by the team indicating that it might be OK for surfing.

Collective nouns for surfers - the legitimate ones are a wave and a whale. Anths ideas - a drop in of angry surfers, a blonde of surfers, a grommit of young surfers.

Anths weird fact: After reporting on a dead Short SunFish that washed up on the beach at Bunurong Marine National Park, he remarked on how the fish tend to tilt up a side above the water and have the birds clean the parasites off. They then tip over and do the other side. And sunfish are about in the day, and moonfish are about in the night (in case you were wondering).

And to follow up on yesterday's Surf Like You Stole Something, and you want to know more about the artificial reef work visit Prof Kerry Black from Artificial Surf Reefs Ltd on this website.

Justin looked at the research into bodysuits for triathletes - the role that buoyancy plays in the process, and compares the value of a more bayonet material (which may be illegal) vs the shark skin approach which generates lift (in a perfect world).

Pt Addis is important as it goes out so far - It has a whole range of habitats, with the water depth going from 0 to about 60 m. The surf is the key attraction for people to the park, and in the shelter of the point the snorkeling and diving is good.

The geology of the place if fascinating and it is also a wonderful place to just walk and see what is happening in the water.

The Crossing is a program where a boat (the Indies Trader) sponsored by Quiksilver tours the world to find new surfing breaks around the world. The process is simple - cruise around the world to find great breaks - both shore and on reefs in the middle of the ocean. Add a couple of world class chef's and when you find good spots you fly in some world class surfers for some world class surfing.

It is not just a surfing adventure - the boat also carries marine biologists from UCLA who relish the opportunity to find new organisms and opportunities all in the name of ReefCheck.

Weirdest location they were - moored under the Tower of London in the Thames River - not much of a shore break there.

"The weather sucks, and I am sitting in my driveway looking at my gear - dry." Brett is going to undertake beer therapy to recover from the disappointment.
