Bron, Anth and Dave are in the studio with Anth paneling - giving a Goddess's a much earned break.

Anth's fav collective nouns - a host of Angelfish, a glide of flyingfish, a fling of sandpipers and the best being the smack, fluther, smuth and studk of jellyfish.

The marine world has been big in the news this week. Interesting stories on what fish not to eat and the Pacific sea star in the bay - the impacts and what we need to do about it.

Hooray for Point Nepean - 5 seastars for whoever came up with the $10 million to fix the issue.

A speck on the sea - Epic voyages in the most improbable vessels (William Longyard) received 3.5 seastars from Peter for a great series of 70 odd short stories about the small vessel journeys over the centuries. It is a great book to be able to pick it up and read it at any time.

Wayward Sailor - In search of the real Tristrian Jones (Anthony Dalton) - Anth has decided to finish reading this book which highlights the stories of this sailor who made huge claims as to his achievements and had done almost none of them. He was a serial liar and it was great

Surfs up a surfing guide for girls (Louise Southerden)- David was intrigued by the boob board (with dimples in all the right places). The book is a great introduction to surfing for anyone that wants to give it a burl. Dave gave it 5 stars.

Treacherous Waters - Stories of Sailors in the Clutch of the Sea (Tom Lochhaas ed). Bron gave this book 4 stars as another series of short stories about surviving storms, Cape Horn, Dangerous Shores, Polar waters and tragedy are some of the headings that cover off the different sea survival stories.

" Wandering' Star "

" Fairytale of New York"

The Pogues and Kirsty McColl

Brett is planning on having a hangover tomorrow. Rye is great, and in the summer period the best way of checking out the conditions is either look out the window, or drive to the beach and dive anyway.

In the west of the state, snorkel in the lagoons of Killarny and scuba off the breakwall at Warnambool

In the centre of the state try the back beach of Blairgowrie for both snorkeling and scuba.

In the east you can't go past Wilisons Prom - if you are fit and healthy you can't go past Tongue Pt (watch out for the 5km walk)

Basically, anywhere it is rocky and wet is good.
