Rachel Bathgate reported in from Lord Howe Island. She is researching the local drinking habits at the bowls club and the

Peter reported in from New Zealand (live on the line) the catching of the Colossal squid in New Zealand. An immature female was found attacking a trawl net in the Ross sea. Bigger than the Giant Squid, only 5 other specimens have been found - all inside sperm whales.

The collective noun of the week is for eels: a bed or a swarm are the two recognised ones.

The programs facilitated by Coast Care are community based. Community groups get assistance from Coast Care, nationally, to facilitate the implementation of community programs to work on the coast.

If a community raises concerns about issues, the Dianne gets involved as a facilitator to plan projects and help get funding to implement the projects on the ground.

Most projects have had finding timeframes of around a year, but there are some projects that have been around for 10 years. Projects vary from Friends of Mud Island - where the group does weeding, rubbish collection and seagrass monitoring. Surfrider foundation has also run projects around Pt. Impossible (near Torquay). They are also involved in Reefwatch.

A number of monitoring projects are also part of the program to evaluate how it has gone and what improvements have happened.

Well - most of the answers were on the website.

The prize is a family pass to the Melbourne Aquarium for two adults and 3 children, and a special bonus prize - for answering more than 10 questions.

Yani and Tom were winners of the special prize (we made up as we went along) as our youngest competitors ('cos nobody got 10).

Cassie was the winner - well done - she came in late and took away the prize.

Brett was not lost - he was in Portsea trying to get a mobile phone signal. In the bay is great, and the ocean side is great for surfing but not for diving (the swell is awful).

"Nobody is at Portsea - its dead as a maggot as everyone is watching the war".

Vis 8m in the bay and the water is 17-18 C
