Everyone was in the studio today, Bron, Anth and Dave, all of whom have made no impact on their Christmas List (well - Anth is the only one with a list).

Bron made a big call weather wise - a gorgeous day with light winds today. Boating is good too - wonder what the diving will be like.

To report illegal fishing call 13 FISH (13 3472) - pick up a card at the RRR reception.

As ships get bigger the channel needs to be deeper - Apparently around 30 % of ships can't fully load as they need 13 m of navigable water, and we only have 11.6. There are three hurdles: environmental impact, engineering feasibility (i.e. can it actually be done) and is it economically sensible.

There are a range of options as to where the huge amount of dredge spoil, and it would probably go to existing spoil grounds off Williamstown and some new ones off Dromana. It would probably double the amount of spoil.

An important question is what will stop the stuff from running back into the channel, and the oceanographers are looking into this, along with the impact on the tidal levels.
