Bron and Anth are in the studio, with Cath driving the Panel. The weather - nice today, but getting worse as the week unfolds!

Something we had a bit of a chat about this morning was the habit of many gardeners and groundskeepers to simply blow lawn clippings and dead leaves into the gutter. Where do they go? The sea, of course - carried along with stormwater. One of our listeners, Pete, rang up and raised the issue. Thanks Pete, it's someting we might investigate further in the future.

Further to this, Gary from Gary's Gardenscapes gave us a bell to let us know that some councils have conducted "Sustainable Gardening courses", which many gardeners have used to change their "leaf-blowing" ways. Some even sweep the gutters and so forth clean as a matter of courtesy!

National Geographic and PADI have teamed up to introduce a dive qualification to help the recreational diver become a better observer of the marine world. The training consists of:

Buoyancy control - improving the divers ability to reach neural buoyancy to make observing and recording easier - esp talking photos without having to hold on to anything

Naviation - no point in finding something if you don't have the skills to find it again to show others.

An Exploration Project or Life Identification project - learning to slow down and really observe.

Thanks to PADI we have one full dive qualificaton to an open water ticket , followed by the National Geographic Diver program. All you have to do is tell us in 50 words or less why you want to become a National Geographic Diver, and what you would l;ike to find ? Enter by email or smail mail - entries close on Friday 10th at 5pm
