Dive report

You are reading this an hour early thanks to the wonders of daylight savings. Bron and Anth have powered up the Marinara machine in our new timezone. Bron interpreted the weather forecast as magnificent, but ladies may have to select Frock B for the Cup on Tuesday - as it could be a bit crap. The weather that is, not the frock.

Speaking of the Melbourne Cup, in true Marinara fashion we suggest you simply vote for any horse with fishy name - regardless of how tenuous that fishy link may actually be. Good luck!

A U.S. court has decreed that dolphins and whales do not have the right to sue the U.S. government for any injuries sustained through military sonar practice. No word as yet from the cetacean community, but Anth feels that any such response would be along the lines of "Eeeeeeh eeeeh eeeeh *click* eeeek *click* eeeeh".

The folks responsible for Nguna-Pele MPA in Vanuatu have come up up with a novel way to generate money to put toward their marine protected area - visitors are now able to adopt a Sea Turtle! Or if that doesn't take your fancy, how about a Coconut Crab! Money raised goes toward the maintenance of the marine park.

A walk along the entire Victorian coastline!?!. Some would think it fun, some would think it lunacy, but Lynn Murrell, chairman of the Victorian Coastal Council has made it a reality. Averaging 25km a day, he and a small army of support from around Victoria are going to traverse the entire coastline in order to raise awareness of our wonderful coastline.

If you would like to join Lynn in his endeavor, or find out more information about this remarkable endeavor, make your way onto their website

Brett's already out and about on this fine Sunday morning. Wind's down, the water's flat, but the water's a tad brown, vis isn't all that great. Brett suggests anywhere west of Barwon Heads, or a fair way offshore - otherwise the vis will more than likely not be quite up to par.
