Bron and Anth are in the studio - along with Anths bugs. Anth is now famous in Geelong - his day job has finally collided with Marinara.

The weather is officially windy.

Some "smart" scientist has worked out that bigger, older fish can reproduce more effectively than smaller ones. So why do we throw back the small ones ? The answer seems to be that different species are different (naturally)

Is it a minor change to an existing boat launching area, or is it a major new development at Mallacoota.

Jenny joined us to fill us in on the proposal and take us through the options.

This week Parks Vic released the first map of the parts of the Marine National Parks. Apparently the first maps of the areas were done by Matthew Flinders about 200 yrs ago, and now Point Addis has been completed - it seems he was about right. The four other deep water areas are next on the list.

To map the habitat, three things are needed: Depth (measured every 10cm), Texture (measured by snippets) from the sonar, and finally tow video - where the very long videos are are made and watched.

And what about those algae that form calcium carbonate balls by depositing it within their cell walls, and as they die, the balls get bigger
