Bron and Anth are in the studio, in full flight and every one seems healthy. Anth is planning to fix that by playing in the Community Cup. For a Hawthorn supporter, he seems to know a lot about Arden St.

The first and most obvious product is good old salt. If the oceans evaporated and all the salt was stacked up on the land it would be over 1.5 m deep ! Well your average 500 g salt shaker contains a whole 5 cents worth of salt.

And once you have 1.75 tonnes of salt, all you have to do is add 3 megawatts of electricity, 8000 l of water and then you have Draino - good old fashioned caustic soda.

Moving on from the inorganic, the first organism we think of is the sponge - a lovely bit of well designed silica crystals that people use to clean their face. What was the person who first tried that thinking !

And the bizarre marine product was - the Macca's Chocolate thickshake. The thickener in the shake is carrageenan - a seaweed based product that really makes stuff gooey !

The winners of the Banksia award squealed when it was announced ! The red carpet event was in Adelaide (special shoes required). They beat corporate minnows such as Shell and BHP Billiton to the punch for their contribution to education with the production of their fantastic CD.

All the images were provided by locals who together had a fantastic collection of material to get the project started. The CD was initially developed to meet local needs, but is being picked up as far away as Canada.

Brett is back from holiday, and recommends the ocean rather than the Bay - mostly because you can see.
