Anth and Bron are in the studio today, discussing babysitters, patched jeans and howling like a banshee!! The weather will be cold and blah (watch out at the footy) and after 8 minutes of warnings - stay off the bay.

Marine explorer of the week - Luis Vaez de Tores (1606) a Portuguese person who wandered the Torres Strait, only to be forgotten for 150 years

Dugong's are both hoons and homebody's. The hoons spend more time racing off to try and find other greener pastures. The homebody's forage around their home habitat and don't really go far.

A new water conservation flyer is out about reusing your grey water in the urban environment. You can get it from ATA, DHS, DSE or EPA

US court has blocked the use of sonar, blocking an exemption granted to the military for exercises due to the damage to marine mammals !

While it first started 8 years ago, it have resurfaced like all good superheros to try and help the Marine Discovery Cente in an hour of need.

The on going future of the Centre is threatened, as a fair bit of the money comming into the Centre is not being used there. This is seeing the number of staff reduced from 6 to 2, and now you can't visit it on the weekend !

It seems that the different potential hosting organisations don't necessarily understand what it does and can do - making it hard to fit into any box. As self promotion is not well liked in Government, the role of the Friends group it to try and be their advocates !!!

Take a Dive with the Miller Family - what a tag line. "Hello Down There" (1969, Paramount) staring Tony Randall, Janet Leigh and a singing Richard Dreyfuss. The genre is Austin Powers meets Jacques Cousteau.

The boss thinks the underwater habitat looks like an onion. His wife is afraid of water and the kids have a rock band who need to make a TV appearance back on land. The militarily were worried about the noise !!!

Nelson Aspen was right - it as set a new benchmark that we hope never to see again !!

Sitting on my jet ski, off Portsea, having videoed two male cuttlefish attempting to mate. Water temp is about 11, vertical vis is great, horizontal is not so good.
